Beard Transplant Before and After

Beard transplant turkey before and after

The loss of beard hair—also known as alopecia barbae—is a condition affecting millions of men across the globe. Alopecia barbae is just one of multiple types of alopecia areata and most commonly occurs as a single patch of hair loss along the jawline or neck. It usually appears as a ring of thinning hair which eventually leaves the site completely hairless. This often results in a patchy beard with one or more bald patches and can occur in connection with or independently of scalp hair loss. While the two share a root cause, beard hair loss can also be caused by additional factors.

What Causes Beard Hair to Fall Out?

The most common reason for experiencing rapid beard hair loss is alopecia barbae. The exact cause and nature of this are still unknown. Typically, alopecia is considered to be an autoimmune disorder that causes the body’s immune system to attack its own hair follicles. Alopecia barbae is also theorized to be caused by genetics and/or hormone levels. Even stress might play a role in all kinds of hair loss. There are several types of alopecia (alopecia totalis and alopecia universalis being the most extreme) and determining the precise cause of a patient’s hair loss is the first step in assessing their hair restoration needs.

What Is A Beard Transplant?

Commonly viewed as a sign of male virility, a beard provides several benefits ranging from creating a distinctive contour to a face to covering scars or blemishes. A beard has allowed many men to feel more secure in their appearance. Sadly, for many, things such as hormonal fluctuations, previous scarring, or simply genetics can prevent them from growing a thick, full beard – or any beard hair at all in the most extreme cases.

A beard hair transplant represents a reliable solution for all of these struggles. At the Dr Serkan Aygin Clinic, we offer a full range of beard hair transplant services. A beard transplant can offer a patient a permanent masculine appearance. Similar treatments in the UK can cost as much as £7,000, but a beard hair transplant in Turkey is dramatically cheaper and guarantees world-class results.

Whether e a simple moustache, a stylish goatee, or a full, grizzled beard, we can create a custom facial hair transplant solution that is perfectly tailored to you.

How Is A Beard Transplant Performed?

A beard transplant is no different from the scalp hair transplantation process. As with all of our transplants, the first step is a full consultation with Dr Serkan Aygin—a world-leading expert on hair restoration surgery with more than two decades of experience—in order to determine the specific needs and options for each patient. During this consultation, Dr Aygin will focus on the recipient area and the donor area to determine the number of individual hair follicles (grafts) that will need to be transplanted for optimal beard transplant before and after results.

At our clinic, beard hair transplants are all performed using the Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) technique. DHI is a modified version of Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplants that uses a specialised tool known as the Choi Implanter Pen to combine extraction and implantation into a single step. To begin, each hair graft is extracted from the donor area and prepared for implantation into the recipient area. Typically, the donor area is at the back or side of the head, though hair follicles can also be taken from the back of the neck, under the chin, or even elsewhere on the body in most cases.

After removal, the hair grafts are ready for implantation into the recipient area. By using the DHI method for hair implantation, your surgeon can quickly and precisely implant each graft in line with the natural direction and angle of growth of any existing beard hair. As with all of our other procedures, beard hair transplants are minimally invasive and, thanks to local anaesthetic, result in little to no pain both during and after the transplant with no scarring or stitches, While each case is unique, a typical beard hair transplant requires between 1,000 and 1,500 individual grafts and takes between 3 and 6 hours. Depending on the specific results desired, multiple sessions may be necessary.
