Sapphire FUE Hair Transplants In Turkey
Learn more about the technical innovation in the surgical hair transplant market.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a method for hair transplantation whereby individual hair follicles are removed from the donor area using a special tool before being directly implanted into target problem areas. FUE transplants are a minimally invasive procedure with a quick recovery time and low risk of scarring.
What Is A Sapphire FUE Transplant?
Sapphire FUE transplantation – as the name suggests – uses blades made of sapphire as opposed to traditional steel blades. The benefits of using sapphire gemstones for creating incisions are significant and include:
– More natural-looking results
– Denser hair placement
– Less pain
– Minimal scarring
– Lower risk of complications
How Does A Sapphire FUE Transplant Work?
Follicular Unit Extraction hair transplants are highly delicate, though relatively straightforward, procedures. Once the donor area and target area have been treated with a local anaesthetic the procedure can begin.
The first step is to extract the hair follicles, one-by-one, from the donor area with the assistance of a micro-motor and micro-punches, creating extraction sites ranging from 0,6mm to 0,8mm.
Using the FUE technique, the extracted hair follicles are then transplanted into the channels which have been created at the recipient site. Opening the channels is the single most important part of the procedure; full, natural coverage can only be achieved if the recipient channels are created following the patient’s natural angle and direction of hair growth. These channels directly affect the density of the transplanted hair as well as the quality of the final result.
This is the reason why sapphire blades are so vital to a successful FUE hair transplant. sapphire blades enable your surgeon to create much smaller channels – ranging from 1,0mm to 1,5mm. Exactly why this is important for the patient is outlined below.
The Advantages Of Sapphire FUE Transplants Vs. Classic FUE
What are the concrete benefits of sapphire blades when compared to conventional steel blades during an FUE hair transplant? The single biggest advantage of sapphire blades is that they are significantly sharper than steel ones; this provides several notable advantages.
Firstly, sharper blades allow for finer incisions. Smaller incisions mean your surgeon can create more channels. More channels mean more transplanted hair, which in turn means a denser, more natural final result. Finer incisions also greatly reduce the risk and amount of bleeding both during and following the procedure. Additionally, transplanted hair follicles placed into smaller channels are unable to shift or fall during the healing process.
Another key advantage of sapphire blades is that they enable a much faster and cleaner healing process. Sapphire blades cause much less damage to the surrounding tissue and minimise the formation of scabs. This allows for faster healing, minimal risk of infection, and little to no scarring.
Soft Anaesthesia And Sedation During Sapphire FUE Transplants
During the 6-7 hour hair transplant process, both the donor area and the target recipient area will be placed under a local anaesthetic to minimise discomfort. We specialise in a revolutionary type of “soft” anaesthesia that eliminates the need for needles; allowing for a much smoother, completely painless, experience
Additionally, patients may opt for general sedation. Sedation during an FUE technique hair transplant is fairly common and assists both the patient and the doctor. All sedation is performed by our licensed anaesthesiologists and is a completely safe, standard practice. However, sedation is entirely optional for all patients.
Recovery and Results
While sapphire FUE hair transplants are a minimally invasive and low-risk procedure, there are some postoperative side effects that a patient should expect in the days following the procedure. As with any hair transplant technique, it is expected to experience some soreness and swelling; the possibility of a small amount of rebleeding is also a realistic possibility. This is all normal and should subside within a few days post-operation.
Over the next 3 to 4 weeks It is also completely normal and expected to experience shedding of some of the transplanted hair. This will not affect future hair growth as the hair follicle itself is still embedded within the scalp. The first new hair growth typically occurs after approximately 2 months and final results can be seen approximately 12 months after the procedure.
While doctors across the world offer FUE technique hair transplants, Turkey is a leader in quality and innovation within the field. Medical tourism in Turkey is a thriving industry thanks to the extensive network and high quality of Turkish doctors.
Sapphire FUE transplants in the UK can cost as much as £30,000, the costs of medical care in Turkey are drastically lower. This is mainly due to Turkey’s economy and the strength of foreign currencies within the country. This means that despite being affordable, you can be assured that the final result will be of equal – if not superior – quality.
The Dr Serkan Aygin Clinic was among the first in Turkey to offer sapphire FUE hair transplants, as such, our doctors are highly skilled and knowledgeable about every aspect of the procedure. Our clinic provides flawless, full, and natural final results that you can be proud of.
